How to declare foreign accounts in your Personal Tax return

When you hold a foreign broker account, you must include it each year in your (Belgian) personal income tax return.

(Not declaring foreign accounts could lead to fines or tax increases)

When you have at least 1 foreign account you have to check the checkbox for code 1075-89, which you can find in Box XIII – section A.

For each account you have to fill in the owner of the account, the country where the account was opened and if you declared the broker account at the National Bank of Belgium (Recommended article: “How to declare your foreign broker account at the National Bank of Belgium (NBB)”)

If you have a DeGiro account that is declared at the National Bank of Belgium, you have to fill in the following details:

Your name — The Netherlands — ☑️ Yes

Your name — Germany — ☑️ Yes
